Fashion model Chris McCormick was raped by her 13-year-old sister’s music teacher while working as a make-up artist for her. Lipstick, on the other hand, has a more convoluted plot than the other movies featured on this list. A Golden Globe nomination came Fawcett’s way for her creepy turn in this film. Soon after, she gains the upper hand, which she uses to pin down and abuse him in the same way he had done to her just moments earlier in a violent act. Fawcett portrays a woman who lives with two other women in an apartment complex, and the film tells the story of a man who sneaks into their building late at night and tries to rape the woman. Extremities (1986)Įxtremities, starring Farrah Fawcett, is yet another solid rape-revenge thriller that takes place almost entirely in a single night. There are times when this movie feels tedious because of how slowly it moves, but overall, I enjoyed it. After being kidnapped and forced to work as a prostitute, she begins training to exact brutal revenge on the many men who took advantage of her. In this revenge thriller, we follow a woman with an eyepatch who was muted as a child after being sexually assaulted. One of my all-time favorite low-budget films is Thriller: A Cruel Picture. This motivates her to form a group of like-minded women, and the remainder of the film follows their quest for justice. She can’t believe her rapists get away with murder after being caught on legal technicalities. The story revolves around a police officer who is raped by a gang in her own home. Despite its obvious exploitation, The Ladies Club manages to be amusing and engrossing for an hour and twenty-five minutes.
This movie isn’t too taxing to watch, and I regard it as a cornerstone of grindhouse cinema. The story revolves around two young women who are kidnapped, taunted, and tortured in the woods after attending a rock concert in search of marijuana. It’s not a revenge story per se, but everything else in the film is similar to the criterion in question. Wes Craven’s legendary exploitation film, The Last House on the Left, is a sensation. Film critic Roger Ebert called it “a movie so violent and cruel that most people will find it unwatchable” because of the reversal of storytelling and the graphic nature of the images. With its story of a man seeking vengeance for his brutally raped girlfriend, the film achieves what it sets out to do while adding a touch of innovation. The film depicts violence in a brutal manner, and it’s generally very well-made (the best film on this list, in fact).
Irreversible by Gasper Noe is a chilling revenge thriller that sparked outrage when it was released. There is a striking resemblance between their writing styles, which only serves to accentuate this.
Mom and I Spit On Your Grave have a lot in common, even if you hadn’t noticed them before. It follows a mother’s quest to avenge the rape of her daughter during a party in the movie “Victim”. It’s a better-funded production with a better cast, including the late Sridevi and Adnan Siddiqui. However, the plot and style of filmmaking are reminiscent of I Spit On Your Grave. Compared to the other films on the list, I think this one is tame.
